Position title

Research Associate Cell Line Development

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Research Associate to join our Cell Line Development team. This role will contribute technically and scientifically to the advancement of multiple projects, as well as bring innovation to our Cell Line Development team. This diverse position will include the following responsibilities: 

 

  • Contribute to the maintenance of an internal cell line bank, including banking of new cell lines and ensuring the quality of cell lines for Research purposes;
  • Develop and engineer new cell lines with different approaches (transfection, lentiviral transduction, CRISPR/Cas9-based techniques);
  • Assessment and quantification of target antigen expression;
  • Design and perform cell based assays, such as cell binding, to support DARPin screening and Mode of Action studies;
  • Contribute to improvement of processes and techniques;
  • Identify and work with CROs where applicable;
  • Analysis and interpretation of data and presentation to internal stakeholders;
  • Maintain a close collaboration with cross-functional project teams;
  • Maintain accurate and timely up-to-date documentation (eLN, FreezerWorks) in English;
  • Update and optimization of local guidelines / SOPs for the Cell Culture team in English;
  • In addition, you will contribute to the rotation system for the cleaning and maintenance of the Tissue Culture room, stock refill, PBMC isolation and maintenance and inventory of all the -80°C freezers and Liquid Nitrogen tanks.

Requirements

For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual bringing along:

  •  A Master degree in Biology or equivalent;
  • Previous experience in industry is a plus;
  • Extensive hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture methods, hands-on work with primary human cells is a plus;
  • Required hands-on experience in:
    • Transfection, transduction
    • CRISPR 
    • Flow Cytometry 
  • Careful and accurate working style, quality awareness;
  • Full professional proficiency in English;
  • MS-Office computer skills (Windows, Office, in particular Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams);
  • Data analytic software, such as GraphPad Prism;
  • FreezerWorks is a plus;
  • Flexible and independent working attitude;
  • Adapts successfully to changing situations and environments;
  • Strong willingness to learn;
  • Well-developed communication, team and organizational skills;
  • Proactive personality and drive to optimize workflows.
