We are looking for a part-qualified or fully qualified European Patent Attorney (60-100%) to strengthen our IP team. As a key member, you will report to the Head of IP. This role involves close collaboration with the R&D team, senior staff, and management to implement IP strategies, ensuring MP’s innovations are effectively protected and leveraged to capture market opportunities.
This position will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
Invention Harvesting and IP Review:
- Identify patentable inventions.
- Conduct IP review of planned publications.
- Stay up-to-date on R&D developments and advise scientists on IP-related questions.
Patent Drafting and Prosecution:
- Prepare and prosecute patent applications to secure IP rights worldwide. Direct outside counsel as needed.
IP Strategy and Advisory:
- Support the Head of IP in designing and implementing project, therapeutic area and company-level IP strategy.
- Support legal colleagues with review of IP clauses in contracts.
- Conduct Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) analyses to ensure market clearance.

For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual:
- Part-qualified or fully qualified European Patent Attorney at early or mid-stage of their career.
- Strong scientific background in life sciences.
- Effective and confident communicator in English, with excellent interpersonal skills, proactive and capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
