As an addition to our skilled Lead Generation team, we are looking for a motivated team member. This role will support the Lead Generation team on research projects in drug discovery with a focus on ribosome display selection of binders.

This challenging and diverse position will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Carrying-out ribosome display selections for generation of DARPin binding proteins;
• Developing and conducting various assays, including high-throughput screening;
• Independent planning, performance and evaluation of project-related experiments, including protein expression, purification and characterization by a variety of different methods: e.g. HTRF assays, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, UV-spectroscopy, size exclusion chromatography;
• Operation, administration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, as well as planning and organization of the laboratory’s day-to-day life, including inventory and consumption material and database work;
• Data processing and interpretation as well as documentation of research findings;
• Scientific discussion and presentation of results within team.

For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual bringing along:

• Completed apprenticeship as a laboratory technician in chemistry, biology or related field; or BSc or MSc degree in Life Sciences
• 2+ years of professional experience in standard methods of modern biochemistry & molecular biology in a biotech/pharma environment;
• Experience with Display selection technologies is highly advantageous;
• Experience with DARPins is a plus;
• Expertise in basic cloning, protein expression and purification;
• Solid background in Data Analysis, processing and documentation;
• Experience with HTRF assays, ELISA, SDS-Page, UV-spectroscopy, size exclusion chromatography;
• Curious personality with excellent communication and presentation skills and team spirit coupled with a can-do attitude and good quality awareness;
• Proficiency in English, German is an asset.
